Surf City + Birkin Beach + Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Slurpee + McQueen/Hellraiser Dinner

Last Week I took time off....Shocking I know 

I have this thing where I have to fill up my time with things, generally that's work or seeing friends and the like; I don't like to do nothing... it weirds me out. But like any human I need that random few days off to recharge.

I took a break to the Beach, Torquay to be exact for some much needed Rest and Relaxation and some of the good old Aussie Vitamin D. I even had my Marc Jacobs moment, with my Birkin Tote on the beach...one day it will be an Hermes Birkin! It was really nice just to sit down and read my Australian Vogue in the sun and eat and... well sleep. 

Did I mention eat? The best thing on a break is just to feast on everything anything in sight. (Another FAT Week it was). The local IGA stocked Reeces Pieces and Hershey Cookie & Creme Slabs, again a very indulgent time. 

The Wifey and I went to see the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, starring my Style Crush Rooney Mara. Tres intense movie, I liked the light and shade of the film with the random sarcastic humour.

Taking a Break last week helped to redefine things.

Priorities and the Importance for things and others changed.
All for the best and in the pursuit of that Path and Balance!

In the 'Fashion Gone Wild' issue, Lucas is in Africa looking BAM amazing. I love love love this cover. Vogue Australia has certainly come a long way with their covers. Tres chic.

Katie Fogarty - Vogue Australia September 2011

Model Kate Fogarty covers the September issue of Vogue Australia, shot by Kai Z. Feng.

This 'Fashion Force' cover is tres chic and European with it's minimal text and cover model, love love loving it! I'm very happy as well because my subscription begins with this issue!

Fogarty is sporting a Louis Vuitton look, which is becoming more and more freguent in magazines, like Prada's Spring 2011 collection.

Rachael Taylor - Vogue Australia August 2011

Actress Rachael Taylor covers the August issue of Vogue Australia.

Taylor rose to fame with rolls in Transformers, Grey's Anatomy and at the end of the year Taylor will feature in the Charlie's Angels television reboot.

Taylor looks tres amazing on the cover, she is giving plenty of face. The pose, styling and colours are a bit odd but there is something about it I like. 90's chic?

Gisele Bunchen - Vogue Australia July 2011

Supermodel Gisele Bunchen covers the July Issue of Vogue Australia; The Chill Out Issue. The shot was taken by famed photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

I love love love this cover, the styling is tres amazing. The cover image is actually from Bunchen's spread from Vogue China's February 2011 issue. Not really a fan when magazine just copy images, but this image wasn't China's cover and heck it's an amazing shot.

Vogue Australia is heading in a more 'fashion' direction I think, having more model covers and less celebrity covers true of very European magazines. And I love love loves it!

Erin Wasson - Vogue Australia June 2011

Alexander Wang's Muse and Model and Jewellery Design in her own right Erin Wasson covers the June issue of Vogue Australia; The Ageless Issue.

Wasson has her own jewellery collection called Low Luv, a line which I love love love for it's Egyptianesque designs.

I don't mind the cover of Wasson. It's chic and minimal, and Wasson looks tres fab. Would have been nice to of had a contrast between Wasson's white and the pale background.

Julia Nobis - Vogue Australia May 2011

Model Julia Nobis has landed the May cover of Vogue Australia.

The cover screams GaGa hair and 80's colour mixed all together. I'm love love loving the Gucci dress on the cover, screaming texture and colour.

I'm not going to lie, I'm liking Vogue Australia more and more.

Anja Rubik - Vogue Australia April 2011

Polish model Anja Rubik covers the April issue of Vogue Australia. This furthers Vogue Australia's model cover approach, which I'm still very all for.

Rubik's cover image is interesting, with a wide leg stance and a suggestive hand over her mouth, I wouldn't say its the best.

The issue features the Australian androgynous model Andrej Pejic and his 'Gender Bending' take on fashion. I'm just going to have to get myself a copy.

Alina Baikova - Vogue Australia March 2011

Vogue Australia adds a bright splash of colour for the  March cover. Model Alina Baikova is dressed head to toe in Prada from the 2011 Ready to Wear collection.

I'm love love loving Vogue Australia's move for a more minimal cover, though I think that the choice to have 'Colour Fiesta' in yellow doesn't work. Besides that though this slight cover redesign being introduced is very chic and reminiscent of covers from Vogue Paris and Italia.
