Style Diary - Back to Black

Back home from Sydney. I had to bring home something pretty.

I picked up this Dion Lee Rope Jacquard Print Jacket, adding to my collection of Aussie Designer pieces. There is something about Dion Lee's silhouettes, and with his jackets in particular I'm in love love love with them. The jacket features a jacquard rope weave with white screen printed rope print on top. Very dynamic creating a 'three dimensional illusion'. I could talk about this jacket for days....

I love love love how the front is cut longer than the back; classic Dion Lee. There is even an 'M' on the back of the jacket. A sign no?

For this look I wanted to go all black and white. Working with textures I paired the Jacket with a sheer/loose singlet and my ruched leggings. I added my Jeffery Campbell Switchblades and an anchor necklace to finish the look. I want to exaggerate the jacket's cut by wearing the leggings, and the heels balance the look at the bottom.

This is also my entry look for Nuffnang's SJP 'I Don't Know How She Does It' Look entry. I chose this look because it's a total statement look, from the jacket to the shoes. No matter how busy life is, wearing fun and unique clothes helps me get through the day and makes me feel BAM amazing! Why not show SJP some great Aussie Talent!

Style Diary - Everything is Better in Wideleg

I'm expanding my pants collection...

I go through my phases with silhouettes. I like to change up my silhouette, since I'm not a colour or print person. I love love loved me some skinny jeans, then drop crotch and finally leggings. Now though from the skinny to the drop I've come to be fond of the wide leg pant.

Moving on from jeans I'm becoming more and more fond of trousers and different fabrics. I find that wide legs can add height and strength to a look. Though not my average day look, but wide leg pants are a new addition to my growing wardrobe.

For this look I paired the pants with my cropped savage print jacket. The cropped jacket helps to again add length and height to the pant. I added a thin belt to break up the black.

Accessories wise I wore a bronze armour ring, my Jeffery Campbell Switchblades and my Banane Birkin Tote; for colour and pop.

Anyone can add wide legs to their wardrobe, play it up with cropped jackets and coats. Pair it with some boots or heels and you've got yourself a sleek and structured look.

Blades of Glory

I am a massive advocate for Male Style. Male Fashion is fairly limited, but Mens Style is tres amazing.

The difference from Fashion and Style is simple. Style is a personal combination of pieces (not necessarily just clothes) which create a look. Fashion to me are pieces and trends created to added into your own style.

Women have it easy I believe, so much choice in clothes, designers and all. Men don't have that option, thus I tend to venture and own a lot of womens clothes. These boots on the other hand are Mens believe it or not.

Shoe Designer Jeffery Campbell created a show line for mens First by Jeffery Campbell, featuring stylish designs for men (or women with big feet). The collection differs from others as it features more that just the common dress shoe, loafer and sandal.

Anywho I wanted me a pair of Jeffery Campbell Switchblades ever since I saw the line. A generous heel, sharp design. Everything and more that I'd want in a shoe.

So in light of this desire I put the Switchblades on my Wishlist, and in a few months they became mine! I bought them of SoleStruck which is a great site for designers like Jeffery Campbell, Senso and Trippen.

I Love love love these shoes! They totally remind me of Lady GaGa's Armani shoes at the Monster Ball when singing 'Bad Romance'... well just not silver and not too crazy. It has a generous heel which is good, though since I'm not small I tend to tower over people.

These are great shoes. If only I was really this height. I'd be a model!

Anywho Jeffery Campbell's Switchblades are a great addition to my style and wardrobe!
