Style Diary - Silver Summer

This year's summer has been a box of all sorts.
Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. More Cold. Even Rain...
Though living in Melbourne.. I really should not be surprised...

In summer it's hard to really wear or enjoy a lot of pieces of clothing in a look. It's just too damn hot!
This is probably why I'm really into accessories and particular statements pieces which help to bring out my style with minimal pieces.
I still like to have a stylish look even if it's over 30 degrees...

I love love love my Silver Jeans, a statement piece but at the end of the day to me.. they're just jeans.
For this look I just wanted to work the 'jeans and tee', accessorizing with my Alexander McQueen De-Manta Clutch and Unif Hellraisers. For fun I added my Key Necklace I got from the St Kilda Night Market and a Bolt Ring... which is literally a bolt that I wear as a ring.

Style Diary - Drapey Snakey

I love love love me a good animal print

I've moved on from leopard print... over to it's cousin Snake Skin. The new go-to animal print, with designers like Prada and Michael Kors adding them into their collections. There is something edgy about a snake skin print. It also goes well with black aka my wardrobe palette.

I got this Snake Skin Blazer from Zara in Sydney whilst attending Sydney Fashion Week. I saw the print and I was sold. It was one of those purchases where the price didn't affect my choice (it wasn't too pricey), the print is white and a pale yellow with black lapels just to add structure to the blazer.

For this look I paired the blazer with this draped top I got from work. I love love love it, it's a simple black draped top with a deep neckline. To me it's very Gareth Pugh/Rick Owens-esque with the piece focusing on the silhouette instead of a print. With that I added a pair of black skinny jeans, black oxfords and my MARTAN Clutch

I kept the accessories to a minimum, with my White Face Tissot Watch and a simple silver double finger ring from H&M. I'm currently into simplicity, normally I do like to chuck on a few rings or a necklace but now I'm opting for more key piece or a solo statement with my looks.  Especially with such a strong print I don't think it needs too much to complete the look.

Style Diary - Fly me to the Moon

I feel like the Moonman, but a Tres Amazing one...

So last week I wore red bright jeans, this week I'm moving forward (and on trend) with metallics.
These pair of silver jeans from Zara, I was just browsing around and these jeans caught my eye.
To me these bad boys scream 90's, glam, strong and mod.
It was one of those purchases I just saw and walked straight to the counter!

I wanted a strong look for the pants, so I added my Lanvin ♥ H&M blazer, draped tank and high boots. I love love love my blazer, the sheen on the lapel and the jeweled buttons ah! I cannot stop smiling!

Accessorizing the look I added a simple cuff, long gunmetal necklace and my Asos box clutch
Going for a strong look to suit the metallic I chose pieces with strong blocky elements, predominately in black not to shy attention from the jeans.

Everyone grab yourself some metallic ahahha x

Style Diary - My Big Mac

I love love love me some outerwear.

With it being winter, majority of the time when I go to work or to uni I like to throw on a big jacket. I love love love how it covers everything so all I have to do is pair it with a scarf and some pants. The trench coat is my current fave, being long and having a waistband to add some shape to the silhouette its a perfect piece for me.

Now I have this Machintosh Coat which I got from London. It was apart of the Lanvin ♥'s H&M collection, I picked it up from Oxford Street. It's a large coat with with a thin tie on the waist. I haven't really worn the piece yet, just because it is very intense coat. But now come winter I'm bringing it out!

Being well me, I wanted to play with this coat. So for this look I wore this Topman t-shirt with a drop crotched jumpsuit with the coat on top. Adding some structure to the coat I put on this thick black belt that I made myself. The belt is tres amazing because its just a simple band that give me shape and a 'thin aspect' to me.

Finally accessorising I added this Zara briefcase which was gifted from my wifey, my Marc by Marc Jacobs cuff and by black high Zipia boots.

For a day to day or a 'rushed' day I'd take the coat and belt, pair it with some black and a scarf and bam I'm done!

Style Diary - Everything is Better in Wideleg

I'm expanding my pants collection...

I go through my phases with silhouettes. I like to change up my silhouette, since I'm not a colour or print person. I love love loved me some skinny jeans, then drop crotch and finally leggings. Now though from the skinny to the drop I've come to be fond of the wide leg pant.

Moving on from jeans I'm becoming more and more fond of trousers and different fabrics. I find that wide legs can add height and strength to a look. Though not my average day look, but wide leg pants are a new addition to my growing wardrobe.

For this look I paired the pants with my cropped savage print jacket. The cropped jacket helps to again add length and height to the pant. I added a thin belt to break up the black.

Accessories wise I wore a bronze armour ring, my Jeffery Campbell Switchblades and my Banane Birkin Tote; for colour and pop.

Anyone can add wide legs to their wardrobe, play it up with cropped jackets and coats. Pair it with some boots or heels and you've got yourself a sleek and structured look.

Order.

(T-B/L-R) Surprise Teaparty, Dinner with the Wifeys, Zara Opening & Birthday Dinner

Last week I decided to get myself organised... well progressively

With Krystal wifey going away to Europe (uber jealous) this week she misses out on wifey Yvonne's 21st Birthday in July. In light of this Krystal and I spent a day preparing, making and hiding a surprise tea party for Yvonne so that we could at least celebrate her birthday together. It came together really well, the prep, the surprise and of course the food and conversation, which consisted of tea and cake! yum yum.

Throughout the week I set myself the task of cleaning my studio room. Which was working well... until I wanted to take some style diary photos and the like. BUT now I can safely say that I have a very very tidy space, so I can begin more projects very soon!

I ended up going to Zara on it's first day of trading with a work mate. There was even a controlled line to get into the store (publicity stunt I believe), but I gotta say its a pretty nice store. It totally reminds me of Europe, and all of the lovely things I got from Zara whilst overseas! At the moment it is too intense for my likings, I compare it to a boxing day sale or when Stella McCartney debuted her collection at Target aka utter madness. I don't think people realise that Zara will be here for a while so they don't need to stock up that quickly... ahaha. I'll be sure to visit it once the hype dies, they'll be getting a fair amount of my paycheck I can foretell.

On the weekend I went to workmate's 21st dinner which was nice. Chit chatting with food. And Gelato was involved, so I was a very happy chap.

On a sour note. I start uni this week!... Well I'm doing a winter term. But Still! I'm gutted that I'll be on a semi holiday now, but fingers crossed it'll all pay off and I'll be finished at the end of the year!

Upbeat note! I've got plenty of goodies to share so stay tuned lovelies!

Banana Birkin?

So back around Christmas time I did a 'Dear Santa' post, which was basically me having a really long wishlist just for the holiday season. Well on that list I wrote that I wanted a Birkin Tote bag. So time past and I totally forgot about it till I saw a customer at work with a hot pink Birkin Tote and being... well me I investigated I got myself.. well two.

These Birkin Totes are made by Banane/Banana Taipei. Like the Hermes Birkin (the one where you had to be on a waiting list) believe it or not but these totes aren't manufactured often so I had to order them and wait for them to be made then shipped. A long wait. But the wait is over! I got myself on Orange and Purple tote, just because knowing me and my wardrobe of neutrals that these colours would stand out well.

I am in love love love with my totes. I've kind of been collecting random totes ever since my travels in Europe. I especially like these ones because they have sturdy handles and a magnetic button to close the bag. They can carry a lot, though I don't really want to test their capabilities as I do want to keep them for a while. But yes a great bag, should of got it sooner! Which one do you like better my Orange or Purple?

Style Diary - Anchorage?

I actually wore this outfit to Krystal's house the day we took photos, I wasn't intending it to be an outfit to shoot but Krystal gave it a shot. Works well.. no? I bought this blue demin wash Stussy shirt a while back; I never really wore it until I went traveling. I love love love the denim look of the shirt, and a sneaky fact most of the buttons on the shirt have fallen off it so half of it is sewn tight!

I guess you could say I'm channeling a smart casual vibe with a bit of silver love. I can't remember how long I wanted an anchor necklace. Something simple nothing blingy or anything crazy I just wanted a simple silver anchor. It took me a while but I ended up picking this one up on Ebay. My owl ring was gifted to be from my Wifey Yan when she was in America. I kinda love love love owl jewellery a bit too much so it adds to my collection.
