Style Diary - Houndstoothy

I love love love this jacket.

I've been doing a massive wardrobe clean out recently. I'm donating all my unwanted or unworn pieces... well to make room for more! This jacket however I've had for ages, but I'm still in love love love with it. I got this Black Friday Houndstooth jacket a while ago, it was one of my first clothing purchases. It's one of those pieces in a wardrobe that fit well, is fairly simple.. so in other words I'm attached to it.

Following on with my 'It's getting warmer!' vibe, I thought I'd incorporate the jacket into my style diary. I do love a houndstooth print, it has to be just right and I think the jacket with the black and grey works well. For  this look I paired the jacket with a navy deep neck singlet, shorts shorts that I made out of a pair of unwanted jeans and my new favourite my Unif Hellraisers (my loafers) !!

Accessorising I went for my MARTAN Antique Turquoise Ring and a Clutch I made myself.

Style Diary - Summer of 55

It's nearly summer downunder!

I love love love warm weather, the sunshine and heat I find it hard to be sad on a sunny day. With the heat coming it's time for me to pack away the thick jackets and coats, opting for lighter jackets and lighter shades. I feel more inclined to want to walk around the soak up the sun... I must sound like some nut I'm beginning to realise... ah well.

Anywho for this look it's a more toned down 'basic chic' look. Trying to be simple I started with these light blue jeans, which I cut and ripped just to give them a bit of character. With jeans I like to collect every colour, and then different cuts and rips. 

I paired the jeans with a ripped Hanes tee and one of my many black blazers. This one is a thrifted David Lawrence blazer I got for $10, a steal! Being a casual look the blazer is very 'boyfriend' fitting being a tad too big, but perfect for the look. 

My shoes are vintage loafers which I got from a vintage store. They fit me perfectly and I'm in love love love with the leather tassels, it's such an old school shoe ah timeless.

Accessorizing I've got my 5 Preview '55' Necklace, Banane Birkin Tote and an oversized bolt that I wear as a ring.  Being well.. me I like to wear whatever I see and find. I found this bolt outside my house, a bit of antibacterial and BAM it's an oversized ring and I love love love it! 

This is a really basic look anyone can pull off.

Style Diary - Red, White and Bright all over.

I'm working with Brights again

I've had my eye on a pair of red jeans for a while, and when I saw these pair at work I had to snap them up! They are right on trend, very pop bright. As you can see I'm slowly expanding my wardrobe.

I also cut my hair! Tres short no? I just needed a change... though it does looks quiet the same when I had my quiff.

For this look I paired the bright jeans with a light look. With brights, I tend not to colour block (because I don't own much colour clothing) so I normally pair it with a black or white look, to give emphasis to the jean. A long deep neck t-shirt and my floating lapel Dion Lee blazer.

I am in love love love with this blazer, its cropped the back with detachable lapels so it can be a simple grey blazer or a much more exaggerated coat. Accessories wise I added a long silver chained necklace, Topshop  envelope clutch and black boots for height.

I try to incorporate trends into my looks that suit my own style. You aren't going to see me colour blocking anytime soon!.
